Man Ray.
Man Ray was born in Philadelphia 1890. He was a visual artist. The experiments he done with photography would be how to make camera less pictures which he called rayograms. My opinion of his photograph is that it looks interesting because he uses different and unusual objects to put on top of the paper. Moholy Nagy. Moholy Nagy was born 1895 and died 1946. He was a painter and a photographer. Below is a photogram that he done. His work is similar to Man Rays work because he also does photograms. This piece of work is interesting because he is not just using random objects he is using a persons face. |
What Are Photograms/Rayograms?A photogram is a photographic image that is made with the use of photo-sensitive material such a photographic paper and light exposure. It works by placing objects directly onto the chosen surface and then exposing to light usually with the use of an enlarger for this type of work. This then makes a negative shadow that varies in tone depending on the transparency of the objects used. Parts of the surface that have not been exposed to light appear white and with transparent or semi-transparent objects appearing grey. How Do You Make Photogram? -A photogram is making a print in a photo lab without using a camera. By placing objects onto a piece of light sensitive paper in a darkroom, you can use an enlarger to cast light onto the paper and capture the silhouettes of the objects. What Went Well And What Didn't Go Well? -The things that went well was that it was easy to do and didn't take long to do. But the things that didn't go well was that if you exposed the light for too long the pictures would not come out properly and you wont be able to see it. |
